Crisp White and Summer Stripes.

There's something about a crisp pair of white shorts that just screams SUMMER.  And since summer is my favorite season, this is a major plus.  I paired my white shorts with a colorful top because I love creating a good contrast.  The thing I love about this shirt is the button pinch detail on the back...it totally reminds me of the button on my wedding dress that held up my train so I could boogie down on the dance floor!  I don't know about you, but any hint of wedding dress details in my everyday wardrobe makes me smile.

Striped T's and Skinny Jeans

I'm not sure when the change took place, but throwing on a "t-shirt and jeans" when I was in high school looked MUCH different than throwing on a "t-shirt and jeans" now.  One reason for that is the plethora of colored skinny jeans on the market right now.  If you  haven't noticed by almost all of my other posts, I'm pretty much obsessed with them.  They're cheerful, they're flattering, and they're oh-so-cute.  And for some reason, I feel as if I put a little more effort into getting dressed on the days that I wear them.  And add to that the fact that t-shirt's come in so many fun patterns and prints, materials, and even interesting cuts (don't you love the short front/long back combo!?!?).  Well, regardless of when this change took place, I'm so very glad that it did.

Rainbow Skinnies: LEOPARD!

I feel like a bit of a con-artist wearing these leopard skinny jeans.  Why, might you ask?  Well, let me tell you!  While shopping at Nordstrom one day, multiple people complimented these jeans, and even asked if they were the ($200) Current & Elliot version sold in the (large bank account required) department upstairs.  "No," I said, "They were only 20 bucks at Target!" Jaws dropped.  Eyes bulged.  Hands flew in the air!  Well, that may have been a bit of an exaggeration, but they were definitely impressed!  These jeans have been, by far, my best deal this year, and they were well worth every penny. hehe.

The Denim Shirt.

I have recently concluded that denim shirts are AMAZING and I hope they never go out of style!  They match with almost as much as a pair of jeans (which totally makes since, considering they're just jeans worn up top!)  Pairing this shirt with bright shorts is great for a sunny day, but I also love this shirt with colored skinny jeans. My absolute favorite partner for this shirt is my leopard skinny jeans (photos to come later this week!).  What's your favorite way to pair up a denim shirt?

Rainbow Skinnies: Baby Blue!

It's hard not to stock up on candy colored skinny jeans when Forever 21 sells them for about 20 bucks, and this creamy baby blue pair definitely caught my eye.  Overall, this is a pretty casual look, but I was able to dress it up with some glitter (hello, disco shoes!), bling (turquoise statement necklace), and shimmer (pearlescent handbag).  In my opinion, accessorizing is the best way to dress up a look because in reality, you're just running around in jeans and a t-shirt and what's more comfortable than that?!?  On another note, I usually don't go for shirts with words on them, but this one just made me smile.  And the gold foil anchor decal to go with my new gold anchor ring??? yes. yes. yes.

Let's Get Patriotic.

It is finally starting to feel like summer here in sunny SoCal, and I am beyond excited to wear my new white shorts.  For their debut, I decided to pair them with this fabulous western denim button-up from Joe's Jeans, a red striped racer-back tank, and a pair of floral heels to dress it up and add some pizaz.  Overall, it's a very patriotic look but trendy at the she time (or so I tell myself!).  Either way, it's a great look for a warm summer night...especially if that night happens to be the 4th of July!!! haha.  Stay tuned for more great pairings with these little white lovelies as they are one of my key summer pieces!

Rainbow Skinnies: PINK!

Hope you had a fabulous weekend!! I drove up to Hollywood to see an awesome dance production called L.A. Unbound.  It kept me entertained the whole show (although I spent the entire night wishing I was a good enough dancer to be performing on that stage! haha).  But back to the fashion - I am absolutely loving all the different rainbow colored skinny jeans out right now!  I picked up this pink pair while traveling in Italy last summer.  Little did I know that only a year later they'd be all the rage back home in the states.  Leave it to Europe to get everything a year ahead of us!
